I've decided that in light of my soon-to-be-busier social life to start a review blog of the pubs and restaurants that I go to in Dublin.  I doubt that I will have many visitors but please do pop over once in a while to have a look!

It came about due to the suggestion of of one of my friends over here who described me as a "frustrated creative"  seeing as my forays into NaNoWriMo came to nothing I decided to write about what I know!

In other news, everything is well with me - I will update next weekend once certain changes in my life are confirmed.

Thought that I would post a long-overdue update along with New Years wishes.

In my previous post I mentioned that I was interviewing for a job as a Recruitment Consultant.  Eventually and after 7 interviews I was offered a job.  I have now left the Daily Mail and am starting at Michael Page on Wednesday.  I will be working on the temp desk to start off with.  Michael Page specialise in financial and accounting jobs so there is lots around for me to be getting on with.  I'm really looking forward to the new job and being happier in my work but I was sad to leave the Mail.  I made a lot of friends there who I know I will keep in touch with.

I went home for Christmas and was able to spend longer at home than anticipated due to the gap between old and new job.  I was in Aberdeen with my whole family (including my Gran which was nice) and Joe was there for Christmas and Boxing Day as well.  I got lots of nice gifts -  the usual necklaces that are always a hit with me, rose gold earrings,  a designer handbag that I wanted, a make-up bag, posh make-up from my little sister, perfume, some books and best of all a felt handbag that looks exactly like a toadstool out of Mario from Joe :-)

I came back from Scotland yesterday and am spending New Year in Dublin.  Unfortunately everyone I know over here is away so I'll be getting drunk in the flat on my own and maybe watching a Billy Connolly DVD.  I will also be talking to Joe on Skype so it won't be that bad.

That's pretty much what I've been doing.  The TV show is going well, I've lost 2 dress sizes now so chuffed with that :-D

I hope everyone has a fantastic New Years Eve whatever you are doing and that 2008 is a good year for everyone.  I'm hoping that 2008 will see me in a job that I can stick to, healthy and happy and living in a nice wee flat with Joe :-)

I have some sort of stomach virus that is making me throw up just about anything I eat, I'm achey all over and dizzy.

Didn't go into work yesterday and was sent home from work today after being ill in my usual melodramatic way.  I really should go to see the doc but as it costs €60 just for an appointment, I don't know if I am sick enough to justify going.

Boo......  although I do get to watch bad telly in between sleeping and groaning.

Give me "get better soon Debbie" thoughts and I will resume thinking happy thoughts about all of you :-)

Just because someone in work just did it to me!!!!

I haven't updated for a while so I thought I would let you all know that I am still here :)

Jenny came over for a week and despite some issues with finding her the first night, I would like to hope that she had a good time while she was over here.  Unfortunately we were both skint and Dublin is an expensive city - be warned! Don't come and visit unless you have at least £100 for a weekend, it just is so expensive for everything!

My brother and sister arrived the day Jen left and we did the tourist thing more than I did with Jenny by merit of not having to work.  We went on a ghost walk that was really amusing and quite scary at times.  It's just two guys that run it part-time so I will be taking anyone who visits on it as it isn't too expensive and I like supporting the little tourist things in this city. 

Had a couple of days to get my head re-organised and prepare for my final visitor - Joe is over again this weekend :D Honestly, you wait 4 months for visitors then 3 come at once!!!  if the weather improves then I hpe to be able to take him to the World Street Performing Championships which are on this weekend and sound super awesome!  Much eating of junk food will also be done, most likely!

Other than that, work is going really well and I am really enjoying it.  It's good to finally do something I am good at, in a place where that is recognised.  Plus the perks of the job are amazing!

Anyway, I hope everyone is getting on well in their new flats and UPDATE MORE OFTEN!!! It's the only way I get to know what you are all up to!
